What is Punkzeiger?

Ulm's DIY punk scene is alive. In 2025 alone, a three-digit number of shows took place in this still relatively small city. With more than 10 venues and several festivals, there's pretty much a place for every punk-related genre and, of course, for every open mind.

While this fills our hearts, it's overwhelming to keep up. Events and information are scattered across tons of channels, disclosed platforms, and formats. That's not just inconvenient, but also a problem of scene accessibility. Other places have already addressed this with great communities: Stuttgart has Motor City Rock, the Ruhr area has Hermine and Cologne and Bonn have Punkstelle.

Punkzeiger aims to be exactly that for Punk & Hardcore in Ulm and around: one single platform to discover concerts, festivals, activism, meetups, workshops and more about the scene.

How does it work?

Punkzeiger uses data from the Bierschinken calendar, which is open to everyone. All listings within Ulm + 30 km are considered for Punkzeiger's event list and social media channels. However, events that don't fit musically, politically or ethically are excluded.

Synchronization with Bierschinken happens regularly, but not in real time. It may take up to 24 hours for new events to appear on Punkzeiger. Posts on social media are usually published a few weeks ahead of the event.
